Moral Emotions and Trust Lab (MEATLab)
The Moral Emotions and Trust Lab (MEATLab) is directed by Piercarlo, and is located in the psychology department at Claremont McKenna College. The lab studies the psychological mechanisms underlying all things related to trust, cooperation, and moral judgment, with a particular interest in how emotions influence behaviors and decisions in these domains.

She is originally from Kansas City and competes on a high level in physically demanding sports, such as inner-tube water polo, curling, and Nintendo 64. Jun Park is a junior at Pomona College who has officially decided to major in psychology after consolidating life advice from his many t.v. shows and fortune cookies. A true Washingtonian at heart, he enjoys listening to rain sounds while the sun is out. After graduation, Jun hopes to politely disturb a program in social psychology to continue his passion for studying the quirks of the human mind.
Daniel Schmidt is a Junior at CMC from rural Pennsylvania who began to love social psychology when he realized Southern California was not quite the same as his more simple town of origin. As a cadet in CMC’s ROTC program Daniel enjoys using his free time to devise excuses in order to get himself out of physical exercise. He enjoys the finer things in life, like sushi, taco bell, and playing unhealthy amounts of video games.
Olivia Cowley is a sophomore at CMC majoring in econ and psychology. She is originally from England but has lived many places around the world, and grew interested in social psych to study how people from all the lands differ. Her fridge is filled purely with dark chocolate, and she one day intends to devise a study to finally prove that its addictive goodness not only makes you happier, but that there is also a strong, positive, causal relationship between quantity consumed and income, marital success, and longevity.
Yifan Fu (Elva) is a freshman at CMC intending to major in psychology with a Leadership sequence. She developed her interest in experimental psychology from Leonard’s mother in the TV show The Big Bang Theory (and considered her a role model) and from conducting trials on her 9-year-old cousin (who turned out just fine). With a focus on organizational psychology, Elva hopes to SHATTER the glass ceiling in professional places one day.
Klaudia Dziewulski is a freshman at CMC. She plans to major in psychology and philosophy. She is from Chicago and does not miss the cold and is concerned she has lost her parallel parking skills while away from home.
